Yes, I know... and the beautiful thing is that he composed the music for all the songs on the soundtrack, showcasing an impressive variety and musical competence...

Before you speak, watch that video. Let’s see if you still talk about a great guitarist. At most, a great piece of junk.

Barracuda (coward user hiding), your comment really cracks me up... Apart from the fact that I listen to (and have listened to) a ton of guitarists (lately I've been listening quite a bit to David Gilmour... do you know him? He's a LITTLE bit better than Becker at playing... not just at bending), it's clear that you are completely OUT of touch with music if you think those bends are in tune. Or maybe you don't know what a bending is; perhaps you believe it's a sweep or other crap like that. I hope not. Anyway, for your information, someone can play guitar for a hundred years, but if they're tone-deaf, they're tone-deaf. And someone who tells me that those bends are done well is a lost cause... I repeat in conclusion that Perpetual Burn is the usual album of guitar wankery. I listened to it a century ago when I was a metalhead. But then you grow up. And you listen to something definitely better than the incoherent sweeping sprayed by Jason Becker. In fact, it seems to me that you’re the one who should grow up... maybe Cristina D'Avena could be useful for your goal...

Steve Vai Live At The Astoria London

Well... to say that the tracks are performed with creativity is nonsense... they are practically identical to the studio albums... except for a few minor modifications, in which I certainly don’t see ā€œan inventiveness second to noneā€ (good grief!!!!). Anyway, great live performance, the best from Vai. Too bad there’s McAlpine and his nonsense on keyboards and guitar, Magini was much better. On the other hand, the band isn’t very visible: they could have skipped calling all those illustrious names (but what is Donati doing there?). In conclusion: Steve Vai is taking himself a bit too seriously. However, the result is commendable, so...
