Don't worry, I didn't misunderstand at all (especially since there was nothing to misunderstand...), I know you liked it! But then everyone has the right to give whatever rating they want (of course....)

@lux: yes, Simmel wrote and studied Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Goethe, and anyone else you can think of, but I’m referring more to his "metaphysics of life," the Simmel who takes up Bergson's vitalism... His reflections are nothing short of thought-provoking. @Easy: of course, one must always seek the truth; we are by nature inclined to "find what is truly!" To put it in Simmel's own words, it is precisely in this search that the realization and enrichment of our spirit takes place. And then absolute relativism contradicts itself in its very principle...

For me, a lifelong enthusiast of the great Chaplin's films and the classics of Walt Disney, it truly means a great deal.

Thank you Enea! However, Verga's work is not exactly a novella: it's more of a drama written for the theater! In fact, I immediately asked the editors via email to change "tragedy" to "drama" (by the way: I renew the request :-). PS: I'm glad you like the image of the commentator's profile...
