What depth of judgment. I expected nothing less from someone who says that Beethoven is a hack compared to Jason Becker.

The reason why everyone has it in for Malmsteen is a mystery.

If you go on YouTube, you'll find millions of videos of guitarists playing it better... and don't think they're all old-timers; in fact, there are tons of kids.

No, you think you're the supreme one because you rushed to judge me without even knowing me. Furthermore: I didn't say you're the idiot, but that HE seemed like an idiot to me; if you say Becker is the best, fine, I’ll share my opinion, I believe he was an incomplete guitarist and that’s it... As for whether "Air" or "Serrana" are nice tracks, I might even agree, but for the rest, I don't like him as a soloist and even less as a composer. Then: I'm waiting for the names of the songs where Malmsteen messes up the bends.

Anyway... let's start the "pars destruens" of your "objections": 0 where did I say he's bad? Please find me the point otherwise I won't sleep at night. 1 Becker was just messing around? So what? When I hear great guitarists just messing around, I can always perceive their greatness. In that video, he just seemed like a poor idiot (who took himself way too seriously, no messing around there). 2 Tell me where you hear Malmsteen miss the bends. It's a load of nonsense (and you know it too). 3 We were only talking about technique, but that doesn't mean I consider ONLY technique. Simply put: emotions are not up for debate. If it moves you, I have nothing to say. 4 Yes, I know that everyone is good in the recording studio. In fact, you yourself write that in the studio Becker is impeccable.

Great Tony:-) I personally love soundtracks! If they're from great movies... Well, I'm curious :) I won't miss it! Unfortunately, there are very few OST reviews on the site...

I have had entire discussions on this very site arguing that it is impossible to compare musicians from different genres. You can check: the good (and the bad) thing about this site is that "scripta manent." Anyway, think about it as you like.
