Well wait, Malmsteen has certainly taken inspiration from violin music, but "copying" seems exaggerated to me... after all, he has a very "personal" way of playing... even when he plays a pentatonic scale... not to mention his bending and his incredible ability to modulate the vibrato (this definitely puts him in common with violinists :)

Hi there ;) Curious about your post (which I completely agree with), I wanted to ask you a small piece of information... but in which composition by Saint-Saëns is the sequence of arpeggios from Serrana present?

Well...nothing remarkable...But is Jason Becker's sweep harder or Gilmour's bending? I would say the latter. What about you?

Um...no, really to larrok:-) after all, I find it difficult to judge who might be the "best living guitarist" (even if only from a technical standpoint).

I completely agree with Larrok and I would like to add one little thing: that the bending of a Hendrix or a Gilmour (and their touch in general) is much more complex to replicate (technically) than 40 minutes of chromatic scales in four-note groups at 300 beats per minute.
