Guns 'N' Roses Appetite For Destruction

So regarding the solo by Slash... clearly no one will ever officially say that it was played by Steve Lukather, but given many circumstances, it seems very credible. 1) The introduction played and tabbed by Slash doesn’t match the original: the arpeggio is made with a barre chord, while in the original it's a tapping part that fully captures the sound. I speak as a guitarist and I remember that back in the day I spent half a lesson with my teacher on this comparison. 2) Slash's live performances have always shown his lack of familiarity with parts that didn’t suit him well even back then. I've heard many kids play it better than him and make it "their own" with a simplicity that the long-haired one has always lacked. 3) The phrasing itself does not belong to Slash's background, and for those who know Lukather well (I know him quite well having studied him for a few years), it’s easy to recognize that the style is his, simply camouflaged. Sorry Cornell, but all the musical analyses support what was probably more than just gossip or curiosity at the time.

Bought it yesterday. Unique and very well played, even though I can't say it's really "my genre."

Oasis Definitely Maybe

Francis is nervous sometimes. But it's true, it's a great 90's album, not the best, but definitely significant in the context in which it was born. Never on the level of the Stone Roses, though.

I had a bit of a hard time reading it, but it's a great album that reminds me of a beautiful time.
Placebo Once More With Feeling

What a beautiful career for Placebo, but in my opinion, the best came during the time of Without You I'm Nothing: in the last two, they have indeed been a singles band. Dear Enrica, you are absolutely right about I Know.
