In my opinion, no, if I've understood the question correctly. Let's say there are at least two formidable formations, tied together by Aqualung, come to think of it.

You say nothing about the album, but why have they put you here? Great beauty...

Very nice, instead. One of the best comedies of recent years, despite the cleverness of the plot. It might also be because I love Bullock (a stunning woman and a great actress), but I really enjoyed it.

@happypippo: I didn't say it’s better, actually. Or rather, my discussion of dualism with "Thick as a Brick" was meant to be limited to a progressive context. Broadening the scope, the Jethro Tull, in my opinion, produced an absolutely brilliant album (the one as blunt as a brick) and a handful of masterpieces following it: this one, the minstrel, the songs from the woods, Aqualung (!) and the one with the cardboard figures that rise first. Of course, these albums are so different from each other that it’s impossible and pointless to rank them. "A Passion Play" is like garlic - as I mentioned in my immature review 16 months ago; it’s quite normal, given its pretentiousness, that it might not be to everyone’s taste.

Again, unlike "Thick as a Brick" (which I consider, to be clear, THE masterpiece), it is precisely the second side that stands out: heterogeneous, moving, perfect.

True. To name one, the arrangements of the last movement (the one of Magus Perde, to be clear) are stunning, with that moving riff and those overflowing percussions.

@happypippo: I had a feeling it wasn't the first, you know? ;-) Of course the video is silly, that was exactly the point; fantastic. As for the misstep, in my opinion (and not just mine) not at all: the "false" step in the '70s is, at most, "Too old to rock 'n' roll: too young to die," but with due proportions. Music thrives on conflicting opinions... Take care.

Let drug addicts and alcoholics pass (oh my, let them pass...), but never pedophiles. NEVER! They could be the best musician ever, but in my small and modest musical world, they are finished.

In my opinion, any album by anyone is a tad below "Thick as a Brick." ;-)

I swear I didn't know them, but big names. Excellent review, very well done.
