Genesis Foxtrot

@Manliuzzo: listening to it again, it can remind me of Gentle Giant, but I don’t think the song contains any quotes. I might be wrong, I am the first to admit my ignorance when it comes to musical details… ;-) @Sirbony: if a suite includes two minutes of honey interspersed with 72 hours of time in 17/4, it’s not really considered pop, is it? That today they would build an entire album around a tune like that is another matter, and perhaps in that sense you’re right; but the context of “Supper's ready” is something else entirely, it’s monstrous. I bow in admiration. God, those bells, what chills...

It seems interesting, you know? Great tip. A few inevitable little mistakes (I still make some despite having 30 reviews under my belt) aside, you write well too. Here you go. ;-)

Cut&paste (which is actually copy&paste) a bit less. We have a wonderful language, let’s use it.

More than anything, a good album that has never been reviewed is becoming an increasingly rare commodity: if it is poorly described, it only breeds discontent and various ire, because perhaps someone was eager to sing its praises in a fifteen-thousand-verse panegyric.

@manliuzzo: I personally have only written unpublished reviews. Of course, if the level of a review already in the database is that of the first review of the magical "Thick as a Brick," maybe a (good) duplicate is better. ;-)

Nothing less, no really: great album for the legendary Alan. Cheers.

Beautiful yes "Watcher of the sky," but in my opinion, after the soup, the standout track of the album is the stunning "Can-utility and the coastliners." Babba bia! One note, though, regarding the score of 1 following the vote (which was incorrect): it's not a great sign of civility; a "Foxtrot" might not appeal to everyone. The review is nonetheless very respectable. Best regards.

Sure, those statements about Gilmour, mmmh... There are some good or excellent guitarists out there, but expressive ones like Gilmour, really, really few.

I've only seen the first one, and I didn't mind it at all. Nice review.
