I always welcome criticism when it's reasoned and constructive, but I can't let these bullshit comments pass without response: my passion for English pop, moreover, is by no means a limitation to appreciating the album, considering that we are referring to a time when Britpop had yet to be born and to an album that must be listened to free from any mental conditioning.

I am astonished. How can one reach such idiocy? First of all, if you do your "little research on Google," you'll find that there are very few pages in Italian dedicated to the Ride, and almost all of them are just short bits, aside from Scaruffi's monograph, which certainly doesn’t reflect my opinion. Then there’s the shameful accusation of copying, which is simply outlandish, considering that if you read a couple of random lines from any of my reviews, you’ll see that it’s ALWAYS and NEVER anything but my own work, of course. Are we joking?
In response to condorbars, I say that the “school essay and masturbation-like review” necessarily had to include monographic and didactic aspects because there are so few articles dedicated to the Ride that I absolutely needed to discuss this album with an introductory approach. It’s not "Nevermind," where you can ramble on because everything and more has already been written. My “summarizing” is actually a "synthesis" (which, by the way, is written very well and is quite exhaustive in its clarity) because it was obviously necessary to harmonize the description of an album that is hardly ever discussed by framing it in the context in which it was released. The fact that I was young (in '90 I was 10 years old) doesn’t mean a damn thing, because evidently it was up to me to bring back to the surface one of the most fascinating albums of rock in the last 15 years, since almost no one had thought of it before, neither on Debaser, nor in magazines, nor on the various music sites scattered across the web.

Just a moment, I need to respond to those two idiots who wrote the following barks: "But if you weren't even around (or almost) back then, why don't you pull out some of your own flour from time to time instead of doing a little search on Google? You write quite well... but for everything you're telling us, two links would be enough."
"I agree with san-xo. Very school-like review and somewhat masturbatory, from a classic brit pop worshiper who wants to shove all the nuances of the incredibly boring sound from across the Channel down our throats, summarizing instead of contextualizing."

I applaud the editors who published this review in record time, highlighting different passages. Truly commendable.

A review of Rockstar led me to buy this album, I wish I hadn't: a prog mess like we haven't heard in years. Truly terrible.
The Residents Commercial Album
Voto:
I've never really appreciated the Residents; honestly, I don't see where their talent and genius lie... they were simply a typical avant-garde product of the '70s, and today they sound very outdated. They're not fun, they don't make beautiful music, all their merit lies in deconstructing and destroying conventional melodies... big deal, it doesn't take much to draw a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

CHARLIE, your dockworker manners are disgusting, I hope you die soon: as for the record, they are very nice and technically brilliant (unlike their imitators).

I've never liked them, lounge pop from the posh '90s, only people like Andrea Pezzi could hype them up.
Stereophonics Live From Dakota

At Live8 they gave a great performance, but I've always had my doubts that over the "long haul" (meaning a two-hour concert) they end up faltering.
