I wasn't aware of the argument between Ronnie and Blackmore, however in '97, at the suggestion of Ritchie and Ronnie who (at least now) are great friends, they decided to reform Rainbow with Tony Carey on keyboards, Jimmy Bain on bass, Cozy Powell on drums, The Man in Black on guitar, and the elf (Dio) on vocals. They were all in agreement when the news arrived of Cozy Powell's sudden death in a car accident: many condolence letters were written in memory of Cozy by everyone who had worked with him (including Dio, Blackmore, Schenker, Iommi, Glover - in my opinion the most beautiful - and many others!). In this link, you can find information about Powell's death and read the various letters I mentioned: un link

P.S.: Can you tell me something about the discussion between Ronnie and Ritchie in '78 please? Thanks a lot!

Did you know about Blackmore and R.J. Dio's project to reform Rainbow in '97 with the Rising lineup? For more information, ask me and I'll explain everything.

Well... regarding Ritchie's son, you can listen to some music pieces (about 30 seconds) on his website... he recently released an entirely instrumental album that must be amazing! For those of you who listen to Blackmore's Night, the project by Blackmore (since '97) focused on him mostly playing the acoustic guitar and the voice of his partner Candice Night. They make very beautiful Celtic/medieval music, even though it strays quite far from Ritchie's old "Sound"... for more information, visit the website www.blackmoresnight.com

Sorry if I divert the conversation for a moment... have you ever heard Blackmore's son play guitar? He's a legend! Check out his website: www.jrblackmore.de
Jr Blackmore is way more metal than his father and, physically, he's identical!
Let me know what you think!

Sure, thank you!!!!!!!!! I love Rainbow, I always listen to them, both with the elf and with the charismatic Graham, you know, with Joe Lynn Turner, and with the others! In short, I adore the man in black, he's my favorite guitarist!!! What’s the website? Thanks a thousand... bye!

Well... I recently went to one of their concerts (on the first of March) and, of course, Steve Morse was on guitar, and I must say he's great! Perhaps Steve is a bit closer to the blues than to the rock'n'roll of "The Man In Black." Anyway, he nailed all the Purple songs perfectly, and the solos were fantastic and identical to Ritchie's. For example, there was a solo in "Highway Star" that both Joe Satriani (when he was with Purple for just a few concerts) and Tommy Bolin avoided live due to the execution difficulty of the piece; however, Steve Morse performed it flawlessly! Great Purple, great Steve, great Ritchie! By the way, "Taken By Force" is amazing, I've finally listened to it! Once again, congrats to Mandrocker for the excellent review!
Dio Intermission
Voto:
other things: 1) Ronnie (after taking inspiration from Ritchie Blackmore) never says Mother Fucker 2) on the occasion of the Sacred Heart tour from which Intermission was taken, Dio was not in Italy. 3) BUT IS THERE A RIFF THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE SOMETHING YOU'VE ALREADY HEARD! 4) Ronnie's music is not Trash but NWOBHM (new wave of british heavy metal).
after these 4 points, I am increasingly scandalized by how one can mock the king of rock'n'roll, the man on the silver mountain, the one who saw a rainbow rise!

Such a review is unforgivable! How dare you mock the Italian-American elf (R.J. Dio)? He is a legend, having contributed to the history of hard'n'heavy with Rainbow, Sabbath, and his solo work! This review is truly pathetic; you should be ashamed for writing it. As for the album: an album that, even though it's an EP, is simply stunning! I've listened to it thousands of times and I never get tired of it! Anyway, if you want to appreciate the splendor of that tour, look for the DVD or VHS "Sacred Heart." It's the same tour as Intermission, only in DVD and obviously longer (more than double Intermission). It's a rare DVD to find, but I absolutely recommend watching it: you won't regret it!
I see a rainbow rising...

I’ve never listened to this album by the Scorpions, but I see that my dad has it, so I’ll definitely give it a listen now! Congrats to mandrocker for the excellent review!
