Vinnie Moore Time Odyssey

Thank you very much Enrico for the intervention and for the compliments on my small outreach work regarding a great six-string talent like Vinnie Moore, who, as you rightly pointed out, has served Alice Cooper and is currently engaged with the legendary UFO!

Of course, macciocapatonda is a genius, there's no denying it! Only he understood that great masterpiece!! I confirm Vin's words; at the beginning, we had some differences of opinion about Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde, but it was also the opportunity to start a beautiful friendship. Today we are regular guests in various reviews, there is an open and honest comparison, and I am happy about it!

dreamwarrior, I admire you, you know that, but you always start your arguments well and then conclude with the claim that Malmsteen is outdated. Come on, his clones can only dream of making a Rising Force, and I think you know this very well! So Malmsteen will only be considered outdated the day someone in the same genre creates an album better than that, and... I see that as quite, quite tough!! I agree with you, as always, on the premise: various Rhapsody, Stratovarius, and the like owe a lot to Yngwie, but that’s history. Dear Panzer, Petrucci is definitely prepared, but I find him cold and he doesn’t seem to have had the same impact on electric guitar as Malmsteen did; I absolutely agree with Mista’s sentiment. Anyway, time will tell if Suspended Animation becomes a classic like Rising Force; I really don't think so, but that's my opinion!

Then, regarding Santisi, I was referring to Rising Force when I talked about Albinoni's Adagio and the concerts from the 1984 period when I mentioned Bach's Bourrée, not to his entire career; certainly, Malmsteen has done covers of classical pieces, but on this album, it’s all his own work (apart from what I mentioned). And also, Blackmore or Uli Roth have done covers of classical pieces on electric guitar; what’s the problem?

I think that Suspended Animation doesn't even have a tenth of the beauty of Rising Force, and above all, it definitely won't become a classic of electric guitar, while that will remain an album for the aficionados of Dream Theater and Petrucci, that is, for a small circle of people! Then again, no one questions Petrucci's skill, but that's another story. Of course, de gustibus applies here too!

I remember Malmsteen's version of Ozzy's "Mr. Crowley," a very successful cover in my opinion. However, I have boundless admiration for Randy Rhoads. To me, he was truly great, and if he hadn't died at just 25, he would have been at G3 today instead of Petrucci!!

I was referring to De Sanctis! Hi God, what a pleasure! That’s a nice piece of Fire and Ice, but what about Dream On, the Aerosmith cover with Malmsteen Dio? Extraordinary.
