Blackmore's Night The Village Lanterne
Voto:
Ronnie, Savopardo is a fan of Blackmore! I believe he understood, indeed I'm sure of it, that in this album he is not playing at the peak of his potential and this is probably true, with the exception of a few episodes, including the one you mentioned, the beautiful version of Streets of Dreams.

I admit that I don't have those nightwalker10 CDs, so I can't give a judgment. I did have the greatest hits with the best tracks from the past, and I can say it was extraordinary! However, I personally (this is my subjective opinion) find Trial by Fire to be a very mature album; it may not have the same verve as those from 25 years ago, but it is a work of great quality (I remember the review on Metal Flash at the time it was released and the similar judgment expressed by the magazine), and certainly, you can't find bands that play like this these days!
Michael Angelo Planet Gemini

Nice review, but it's really wasted on someone like Angelo who, fast, as fast as he wants, isn't capable of making music, as you imply by saying that "music is something else" and therefore it's worth zero. A thousand times better any guitarist, even a slow one, but expressive, able to compose something and perhaps convey some emotion; after all, music should also be this!

Ah, I see I missed a nice and heated discussion! I agree with Mista, speed should always be related to sound, clarity, and technique in general; taken in isolation, it’s just a pure measure that doesn’t say anything at all. Listen to Marching Out by Malmsteen, the speed of the pieces combined with his sound and cleanliness, that combination of elements is impressive, I mean the way it sounds so fast and not the speed itself.
Journey Infinity
Voto:
Great review senmayan, excellent premise on melodic rock and AOR, a genre unjustly overlooked in Italy that has paradoxically led to forgetting a band like Journey, one of the greatest of all time in rock. You also mentioned two famous hits like Lights and Wheel in the Sky, which perfectly capture their potential with Steve Perry, who remains, in my opinion, the only true singer of the group and one of the most talented vocalists to ever appear on the rock scene. The only small note, which has already been pointed out above: Gregg Rolie was the keyboardist, a founder of Journey along with the great Neal Schon. Really well done review, heartfelt and well written, congratulations!

It's true on one hand, but a live performance cannot be compared to a studio album; they are two distinct entities. In a concert, pieces (usually the best ones) from various studio albums are included.

He and Cooley make quite a pair... of clowns.

for senmayan: I will read your review as soon as possible, I promise! Thanks for the judgment, and I share with you that Lights is an extraordinary song, one of the most beautiful and representative. I also mentioned Open Arms, but I could add Don’t Stop Believin’, Who’s Crying Now, and so many, many others!! for mandrocker: it’s been a while since we’ve talked... Well, I figured the album wouldn’t be to your taste; I know AOR isn’t in your veins. I remember your negative judgment on Joe Lynn Turner; tastes are tastes and must be absolutely respected!!

this is totally something that should be locked away, her music, if it can be called that, is an insult to those who listen to it, but I liked the review!
Joe Satriani Super Colossal
Voto:
In fact, Satriani has lately flopped; he seems to have run out of ideas and creativity. Perhaps it would be wise for him to take a break and wait a few more years before returning with albums worthy of his name. The review, however, conveys very well the idea of what can be expected to be heard. Good job, Matt!
