Jean Luc Ponty The Very Best Of Jean Luc Ponty (2000, Rhyno-Atlantic Records)
Voto:
By the way, I think that Joe Venuti (whom you didn't mention in the review), although inferior and less known than Grappelli, is noteworthy as one of the first jazz violinists.

The first review of Jean-Luc Ponty!
If I were you, I would have done the review on "King Kong" instead of a compilation, perhaps due to my aversion to "best of" albums and also because of my passion for Zappa.
Anyway, Grappelli was Italian, only partly French; in fact, he had his name changed from Stefano to Stephane during the fascist period.
Frank Zappa Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar
Voto:
In my opinion, "Guitar" is a top-notch album, although it's a bit heavier than "Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar," which I highly recommend you buy, morningstar.
AA.VV. A Clockwork Orange / Music from the Soundtrack
Voto:
I won’t repeat that you should have mentioned Walter Carlos... a fantastic film and soundtrack (and also book and translator). The soundtrack, as in all of Kubrick’s works, is meticulously crafted and a fundamental part of the film. For me, however, the movie surpasses the book...
Clara Rockmore The Art of Theremin
Voto:
Clara Rockmore, the greatest theremin player! You really have to be skilled to play it like she does. Who remembers the science fiction movies from the '50s that always had the theremin in the background?
Charles Mingus Oh Yeah
Voto:
Beautiful review. Unfortunately, I don't have this Mingus album.
Vinicio Capossela Live @ Teatro Verdi di Firenze 26/02/2006
Voto:
I don't know why, but Capossela doesn't convince me... I can't figure out the reason, maybe I've listened to him too little. However, the fact that he brought Mario Brunello on stage can only raise my opinion of him... From the way you describe the concert, it must have been a great show anyway! Maybe I would have been better off going...
Richard Benson Live al Coetus Pub (17.12.05)

Dante, are you complimenting yourself?? Anyway, interesting and fun: thank you, Dante!
