Branford Marsalis Quartet Eternal

I went crazy for Branford Marsalis's infinite class after seeing him live a few summers ago. His quartet, too. I have "Requiem" and "Contemporary Jazz," both highly recommended. I will try to get this one instead. Excellent review in its simplicity.
Keith Jarrett Belonging

What a beautiful European, or rather Scandinavian, foray by Jarrett; and a beautiful review it is, nimble, precise, timely in its references, comparisons, and judgments. Hats off.

The cover alone drives you crazy, and that retro flavor you mention demands a taste of the dish: your words are better than the aroma wafting from the kitchen. Cheers.

Very well done, Grass, superb review of Dmitri's symphonic masterpiece, which marks the 100th anniversary of his death this year (hey, it's not just a Mozart year...): now this is a nice way to send him best wishes. I have the Bernstein version with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, absolutely a point of reference. I share the doubts regarding the third movement. @ josi: conducted by Jurowsky... mmm... I lick my lips at the thought; @ Hal: the pairing with Volkov is nothing short of perfect, if we were talking about food, I’d say it’s a match made in heaven. Greetings to the loggione.

Robert Schumann Works for Oboe and Piano

What a wonderful mix: Schumann, Rimbaud, and this review is really soaring high! Compliments are never enough for you, JoP. As for me, I must sprinkle my head with ritual ash because I don't own this work, even though I had heard excellent things about it. Right to the top of the shopping list. @ GeorgeWBush: there may have been some kind of relationship between the two, but then I can't help but wonder about the particular affection that united Brahms with Mrs. Schumann, Clara Wieck...
