Thanks Hal, thanks again Stoopid. @colossalyouth: my detailed responses, unfortunately, remain unaddressed, in favor of a "convenient" accusatory genericity; the spontaneity of the reaction from sfasciababbano, moreover, seems significant in this regard. Perhaps when one throws mud and hits the wrong target, it becomes difficult to go back and admit the mistake. Easier to make a quip and exit the scene.

Regarding autonomy of judgment and artistic influence, I also mention Coleman Hawkins (in addition to Lester Young), of whom there is hardly a trace on Wikipedia, acknowledging a lesser Parker influence compared to these two (and Wikipedia says nothing about this either)... this accusatory castle is full of holes...

@colossalyouth: the reference to lay back and the full, spacious sound comes from Gordon speaking about himself in response to a question, but you can clearly see that quoting it at that point was at least ridiculous; if it had been someone else's opinion at least (see the example in my review of Coltrane, where I quote Zita Carno's judgment). The assessment regarding Parker and Coltrane is a well-established and notorious matter, considering that the influence of the two has been decidedly greater (note that, on a smaller scale, this is the first review of Gordon on debaser). Lastly, let me point out one more thing: check the collaborations of Gordon cited by Wikipedia and compare them with those I mention; if I had really copied, I could have drawn from that already ready-made list, it was just a matter of going down one line, don’t you think?

Sorry, I don’t know if it comes across from what I said, but I saw the Wikipedia page for the first time after your notification.

@ colossalyouth: I firmly reject your message, noting the following. I took a look at the Wikipedia page, which reports, in terms of content but not in form, what Gordon himself stated about his music and collaborations in the liner notes of an album (as soon as I get home, I'll let you know which one). On Wikipedia, there is the Italian translation of these contents, which are limited to biographical-informational aspects, and as such it is appropriate to include them by borrowing from reliable sources: as if I told you that you've copied the entry for the date of birth and death, essentially. In place of an introductory caption, I decided to include these details, taking them directly from the CD booklet (and translating them, by the way). But then, do you really think that an average-intellect individual, with all the websites and opportunities to copy, would actually choose Wikipedia, the very first place where someone else can find information (and with the risk of feeding people false information)? I await replies or a more dignified silence.

A heartfelt and syncopated thank you to all the de-commentators and passersby. @trell: unfortunately, these days I'm more out than in at home; as soon as I have a free second, I’ll try to put together a few little things. However, I can tell you in advance that Dr. Fottermaier knows his stuff, as Dex leaves no room for escape on the slow ones: if you put on "Stairway To The Stars," any female living being within a 20 Km radius will swoon in ecstatic delight ;-) @surferkangaroo: that would be a great idea, the Jazz de-Bible :-) @symbad: I had no doubts that Dex was in your discography! @odra: so happy to see you again, but like many here, I’m eagerly waiting for your Aventine to come to an end, as your contribution is truly missed. @sfascia: tks, it's a pleasure to scribble again, hope to be a bit more consistent. @Massimof: what do you think about writing a nice review of "Go"? @Stoopid and Grass: don’t let it slip away, it’s truly a fundamental album! @Socrates: the movie is really stunning; I’m trying to get "Bird" by Clint Eastwood on DVD as well!

Really nice! Wow, but does Steve Albini understand the expression "free time"?
