Very cute, accessible, and sugary. Somewhere between Mercury Rev and the latest Flaming Lips.
Oxbow The Narcotic Story

Better than these by Pissed Jeans (the two best noise releases of the year?). Even though in the end it doesn't make much noise. Rating: 3.5

The Xhol Caravan are beautiful but a bit heavy, rarely listened to. I don’t really get along with progressive music. I’ve never heard of Erok. I listened to Faust’s V (which is a demo), and some tracks from it ended up in "Munich & Elsewhere" (which I can’t seem to find). Instead, now that you’re talking about Groundhogs, there are also quite a few hard rock albums from that period missing: the psychedelic Texans Josefus (stunning), the Australians Buffalo, Cactus, Population II by Randy Holden (amplified!), Sir Lord Baltimore (stoner), Night Sun (tracked sound), plus another thousand that I can’t think of.
