I heard A Candle for Judith (taken from the beloved Chris) but now I’m scrambling to cover my tracks.

One of my favorites from Priest, even though it's overlooked by everyone. The review isn't too bad, it's just a shame about the usual boring track-by-track and the superlatives thrown around a bit too easily (I'd be cautious with terms like "masterpiece," "irresistible," "incredible," etc.).

Uhm, cute but a bit fluff. Album of the month on Ondarock and a high score on Pitchfork made me think it would be a colossal piece of crap, but there's definitely worse out there. In this year's (golden) potty, I'll definitely toss in the new Melvins (great as always) and also the Left Lane Cruiser (rowdy blues).

In my opinion, it's a bit of a drag. Okay, Ash Ra Tempel are monstrous and definitely among the greatest psychedelic acts of all time. But after a while, it gets a bit tiresome. It could easily be a 5 (what a wonderful trip!) or a 2 (yet another crushing bore).

I don't like Jex Thoth at all. On the other hand, this one by Siena Root has some vintage sounds that make me drool. The catalogs Nasoni and Elektrohasch are worth exploring.
