Damn, what a boring discussion. I don't know what nihilism is, but the Cows are massive and kick ass (on other albums more than this one, I, as a supersoul, vote for the horns). Anyway, here’s the single "Chow," thanks to which they got on Amrep and ditched the depressing Treehouse (bad guys: they still have the first beautiful - way better than this - Taint Pluribus in their pocket and they don't want to let anyone hear it).

LucaGranziero got it right! DeBaser is getting rid of unwanted users through indiscriminate banning (see blasphemies in playlists). Are you perhaps the mysterious editor in chief (but go screw yourself)?
Klaus Schulze Irrlicht

Terrifying. Calling Schulze an "impressionist" seems particularly fitting, at least for this album.

Alessio, I think this is the worst of the Cows (which obviously doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a great record). The first one (Taint Pluribus, stunning) was never released on CD and there are only a few copies of the vinyl floating around; by the way, the label that put it out closed its doors a while ago. For the next three (all three very nice), you should be able to find the Old Gold compilation used (I found it), which lines them up while omitting two or three songs per album. The subsequent Cunning Stunts and Sexy Pee Story (for me the peak of the band) are both out of print (they were released by the always-praised Amphetamine Reptile) but can be found used with a little effort. The others should be easy to find. Of course, they're all worth it.

Simply magnificent. And no, they're not doing that well.

Too wave psychedelic 80s for my tastes (Red Temple Spirit?), but not bad stuff obviously.

Regarding age, the discussion is this: albums should be digested over years of listening and contextualized. Listening to 300 albums a year doesn't mean knowing more than others. Besides, I would cast a shadow over the competence of the reviewers on those sites (even the older ones). A serious review, lengthy and with references, often boils down to a mere task completed with hasty listens and connections to albums heard only briefly or snagged just for the sake of familiarity. But above all: never take oneself too seriously. And it is precisely for this reason that I thank the god of the web if debaser exists, a place where everything is done to kill seriousness and the poses of those who act like they are knowledgeable. A site not of "reviewers" (what a drag) but of "listeners."

The JapRockSampler by Cope has just been released. I saw it in the bookstore but it cost 22 euros and was packed with bands that I don't know, so I passed on it. Does anyone know anything about it?
