More than dreamy, I lean towards the grating of bolas. But I never quite got into the cornerstones of the old Neurosis either. For those who follow the genre, I still think it's the best you can find around. Or not?

Yeah, very valid and there's a bit of everything in it. Definitely more varied and elaborate than their mates Ufomammut and Lento, but regarding the bols shredding discussion, I still have to decide... The first one was more direct.
Earth Pentastar: In the Style of Demons
Voto:
Stunning. I would say it's recommended for starting with the Earth and with the drone.
Mercury Rev Snowflake Midnight

Listened to three times and the impression remains that of a sticky-sweet and somewhat annoying pop album seasoned with electronic and redundant stuff. The listening experience is nonetheless enjoyable. Definitely better than the last one, but Deserter's Songs remains light years away in terms of songwriting effectiveness. PS: wasn't it Donahue?
The Saints (I'm) Stranded
Voto:
Yes, but they didn't stop with the debut. The second album is just as phenomenal, less intense but more diverse and creative, always in defiance of everyone. And then there's This Perfect Day, which is their definitive song.
Motörhead Motörizer
Voto:
Absolutely. The voice is the same, as is the grim and swift grinding of riffs. Then, of course, they have their differences. It's no coincidence that they tour together, and in interviews, Matt Pike clearly states what his influences are.

They always do the same things, but not better than others. High On Fire, for example, crushes them not just in the legs.
Sunn O))) 00 Void

Sorry, the vote was for the written piece. What homepage weighs today, Ufomammut and Sunn hand in hand.

These are not records to listen to as background music or to put in headphones. They need to be pumped through stereo systems with monstrous bass. Pretentious?
