The Doors The Doors

Well, you’re not entirely wrong, but you’re really overdoing it. And what the hell, it’s true that they’ve been idolized beyond measure and that they’re overrated and all the rest, but the same argument applies to the Who, whom you mention, and also to the Stones in my humble opinion.
Harmonia Musik Von Harmonia
Voto:
Mmmm, I haven't listened to Harmonia yet, but "one of the highest expressive peaks reached by music" seems a bit strong as a definition. I'll comment again after listening... The review is splendid as always.

Nothing to say, the proposal wreckers are always the coolest. (At least for my mono-neuron)
Dead Can Dance Wake
Voto:
Never listened to. The rece (perfect) morally compels me to catch them as soon as possible.
Fu Manchu Eatin' Dust
Voto:
Nice one, gritty and well-written as always. I'll catch the Fu Manchu sooner or later.

The fact is that the more "forward" musical proposals need a bit of time to be assimilated, which is why I wouldn't pass judgment on these first years of the new decade just yet. When Spiderland came out in '91, who paid any attention to it? Now it’s universally regarded as an essential cornerstone, and the same goes for many of the more interesting proposals: Vampire Rodents, Dadamah/Roy Montgomery, Bark Psychosis, and the list could go on forever...

True true, Zion. In fact, I would say that as far as rock is concerned, it has constantly changed and evolved since the sixties, incorporating other genres and musical forms, reaching unimaginable milestones in the nineties. As for the new decade, perhaps we should wait for its end before making any judgments.
Thinking Fellers Union Local #282 Mother Of All Saints

Damn, I just listened to Vampire Rodents (who actually have nothing to do with the Fellers) and they are something that will leave you speechless! Like a smoothie of Foetus mixed with musical avant-garde and crazy cut & paste at unimaginable levels. Super nasty, fast, and unpredictable, time changes every 3 seconds. Better than Foetus, my word (philosopho listen to them again). I'm almost tempted to write a review...
Fink Biscuits For Breakfast

Perfect review as always, even though I don't think the album is for me (too refined). I did listen to Young People and I really liked them, cheers.
Bardo Pond Bufo Alvarius, Amen 29:15

So, the Dadamah are much cleaner and perhaps I like them more too. I don't know the rest of Montgomery's career (the albums have been on the mules' waiting list for a while). As for Bufo Alvarius, I can understand that it's a bit annoying; it has such a dirty sound that when I listened to it for the first time, I thought the CD was defective or that the speakers had problems. @Mr.Burns: I didn't say it’s the best album of 2005; let's say it could be, but I still have to listen to a lot more before I can make such a judgment. I'll try Scott Walker, although from what I've read, I'm not very convinced...
