Regarding the review, it is well-written and there are some thoughts that I feel I share. Then it’s overshadowed by adolescent outbursts, but that’s understandable.

Yes. Look, I try to keep an open mind as much as possible, I listen to everything, believe me, I even buy records just because they are completely outside of my usual tastes. The Doors, however, apart from the DeGustibus issue, don't seem that extraordinary to me objectively. The fact that they are incredibly influential is undisputed.

Indeed, as always it’s a matter of taste. But objectively? I know a bit about the important albums from the late '60s, and the Doors' one is one that seems minor to me.

So, the fact is that I don't have the poster in my room (I'm iconoclastic, right?), I haven't seen Oliver Stone's film, I haven't read any books about Jim Morrison, I've only listened to his music: I like it, but I don't see anything particularly communicative or revolutionary about it.

Well, I'm an iconoclast, I admit it. But I see far beyond my time, at least I think...

Burns, I'm not a lanky young kid; I know the history of rock and I judge based on what I know. In the '90s, everything that had been invented in previous decades reached its peak, no doubt about it. Moreover, I'm just starting to discover the real '90s (not the MTV version and so on), as I used to listen to other stuff before...

Beatboy, I completely disagree with what you're saying. Look, in terms of quality, the '90s kick the ass of the three decades before them combined. Don't let MTV influence you (actually, don't watch it at all).

I break a lance in favor of Francis; I liked the review (despite its excesses) and I share some of the things you say, especially about demystifying the "untouchable" groups.

Thank you! ;D but I am bravO, not bravA. In fact...I am bravissimO.

Thank you, Michi. Anyway, I certainly wouldn't have started with the anthology; not even with a live one, though. "The Serpent's Egg" seems like a good starting point to me, I'll grab it as soon as possible.
