Amon Düül II Yeti

5)dEDOLUZ: if you don't like kraut (if I remember correctly), maybe you should stick to something more accessible, like the fourth Faust album. 6)Caz: there are also a couple of Kraftwerk albums missing, Harmonia, La Düsseldorf (which I believe are sold in just one store worldwide). In the megastores, Faust are now easily found (the IV double CD for 15 euros). I didn't know they had reissued the Guru Guru, good news, I might almost buy them. 7)Burns: existentialist, metaphysical... maybe I should give it another listen :) 8)ajeje: I saw the video, these old junkies are really good (even if who knows which of them was among those who recorded Yeti, Amon Duul have always been a group that came and went). The show only lacked statues of ancient pagan deities and colorful smoke machines. 9)BeatBoy: no, it has nothing to do with the early Kraftwerk. A curiosity: you gave it a 3, why? (if I can improve in some way)

Oh Oh, so many comments, thank you. A shoutout to all the kraut-followers of DeB. Let's see who I need to respond to... 1) Michi, I don't find the review rude, it’s certainly not structured and serious (for heaven's sake), but it seems to describe the style of the album quite well. 2) Lewis: I see you're always around when it comes to old psychedelic glories, I haven't got Tanz der Lemminge, I’ll get it. Ah, I'll buy the Margaritas. 3) Enea: let’s say that Yeti overall isn't exactly easy to digest, and the difference between the improvised parts and the non-improvised ones isn't very pronounced. It's a mega-meatloaf of super imaginative free-rock. A margaritas for you too, yeah! 4) Psychopompe: I had this in mind for months too but couldn't find the courage to write it down. It’s an album that inspires fear and respect. "It's the memory of the general and tremendous effect of the album that remains imprinted," I feel the same way. You say it sounds old, perhaps, in my opinion, it's because it’s the Great Mama (or Grandma?) of all krautrock.

No no, no cows, I've already talked about them (in two not-so-great reviews, but that's how it is). If you don't know Cows, try reading Pretazzo's review; I think you might like them.

One thing I must criticize: the review sparked a lot of comments, but none about the album in question. Guys, give this Psychic Powerless a listen, it’s worth it.

No no, you do it, I wouldn't know what to say, also because I like Unsane but not as much as other amphetamine-fueled bands (who said COWS?). I have three or four other less VIOLENT discs that I would like to review in the near future.

This was long but quite smooth, huh :)

"Come on!", I'm not anyone's lawyer, I just say what I think. Maybe it would be interesting to hear your opinion instead of continuing to hide, huh? I actually liked the review; I enjoyed reading it, regardless of whether I agree with the content or not. Now I'm voting, so you can be happy... I agree with odradek only partly; in my opinion, we can attribute meanings and potentials to music that even the creators might not have thought of. Music is the most elusive art there is.

These days I'm reading "A Reasonable Guide to the Most Atrocious Noise" by Lester Bangs. His reviews are much more than descriptive; they start from the record and soar into even the most abstract reflections and digressions that lead who knows where. Perhaps it's a bit of what Sanjuro tried to do, on a smaller scale.

What can I say, I find myself almost completely in agreement, especially with "reviews must be shaped by the album for a pure identificatory impressionism." My doubt is this: should reviews aspire to a state of Art? I don't know...

I don’t vote, because the review is a non-review. Sanjuro has chosen a style that is impactful, certainly, but perhaps a bit excessive. In my opinion, he should make a small adjustment to his pages written in a rush. That’s what I think.
