"Why haven't the rock icons of the 70s died? Why haven't the pop icons of the 80s died?" But who the hell cares about the icons!!! We're talking about music. MUSIC, DAMN IT!!! Walter, you're amazing.

"I don't believe there can be groups that don't want to reach a wide audience": don't you agree? Yet pretazzo has just thrown out a name, and there are millions, I assure you. The Fugazi live music like life, that's for sure, and they didn't (nor have they) aimed to reach a wide audience. Yet they are an immense band.

I quote: "ALL GROUPS WANTED TO REACH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE = to market themselves." That's not true. Not all groups have tried to reach as many people as possible; you keep talking without knowing the reality of the facts. You continue not to understand that we listen to the music we like, and we couldn't care less if it made it to the charts or if the band had more or less stage presence. But why do you care about stage presence when you put the CD in the stereo? And then: "you listen to bands at those dirty communist parties that the little towns organize, those bands dressed all the same with long hair, beards, Che Guevara t-shirts" - you keep talking without knowing what you're talking about. "It's like a girl. If she’s beautiful but empty, I lose interest; if she’s ugly but smart, I don’t care": congratulations, what concepts! What depth of thought!

I'm someone who doesn't deny the obvious and knew that coming to review "Hot Space" would unleash all this nonsense. Saying that failed rock bands didn't make it is like speaking ill of Battisti to Italians. They take it as an offense. These ignorant people from community centers can't understand that ALL BANDS, EVERY BAND, WANTED TO REACH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE = to commercialize themselves!

Jagger, Bowie, Mercury, G. Michael, M. Jackson, if they hadn't acted like "whores" on stage, you can forget about staying in semi-anonymity and complete obscurity when it comes to charts, and they would have appealed to losers like you who, apart from jerking off your brains and whatever else you have on the internet searching for all these bands, which there are more of than cars driving around. Reaching the mainstream means "screwing yourselves over like this!" I'm not talking about today, as someone mentioned earlier; today, even Fabri Fibra can make it into the charts, today is a shitty world, but back in the day, especially London bands that already had fertile ground to rise, if they didn't emerge, they had neither talent nor scene. Why do the great bands have both? Have you ever wondered? So what the hell do you want? You're always criticizing Queen, always tearing down mass music, chart music, but what do you think you know? It's like asking a graduate in Foreign Literature about Beckford, Whesker, Trollope, and then asking about Shakespeare, and he says: "You've annoyed me with this fucked-up Shakespeare..." You are a bunch of charlatans and nothing more, and even though you want to swim against the current, you're all conformists and want to act alternative too? What the hell are you doing? The one with blinders on is not me, I’m sorry.

First part of Walter's comment: From the last words of the prophet Walterstarman, after which I will no longer continue. Keep going with your nonsense and frantic searches for little groups, but every time you do, I won't respond anymore. Reread this summary post and that's it. The image alone is insufficient. We've had groups wearing fluorescent yellow clothes in all eras that played worse than animals. Skill alone is not enough. We've got talented groups everywhere, those groups that you, as know-it-alls of the counter-hour, go relentlessly searching for. A group, to be a great group, must strike with both skill and presence. In music, the concept of "mortification of the flesh and exaltation of the spirit" is a non-existent idea. Of course, if you listen to groups at those dirty communist parties that the little towns organize, those groups all dressed alike with long hair, beards, and Che Guevara t-shirts, that’s your problem. I like groups that shock both in terms of image and music. It's like a girl. If she's beautiful but empty, she loses my interest; if she's ugly but intelligent, I don't care. The medal of being/appearing is a binary from which music cannot escape.

"People were more interested in that": but why do you insist on not understanding? And then, what does Caparezza have to do with it now?
