They are typical of certain modern punk-rock. The melodic kind, influenced by Bad Religion and unbearably predictable. Punk is not all there is.

No, I'm sorry, the whole "closed-minded" thing doesn't really apply. I listen to everything, known/unknown, pop/non-pop, rock/non-rock, new/old. Green Day are banal, and I repeat: you're wrong if you say you can't find a better definition than punk-rock.

I just listened to it again. The album is remarkable: bizarre, psychedelic, grotesque. The reference to Zappa is spot on, as well as to the Butthole Surfers. The review is ultra-precise as usual.
