I'll give you a vote :) For the influences: the Masada from a distance and the Savage Republic from a very far distance. Also some stuff from Kranky, like Flying Saucer Attack, Charalambides, and Roy Montgomery.

Really very beautiful. Math-rock in abundance, I would say closer to the great Blind Idiot God (their first album is, in my opinion, the unreachable peak of the genre) than to Don Caballero. Very varied as well: progressive, industrial, noise-rock, post-metal, all mixed together in a mega cauldron that is really quite something. And when was rock supposed to be dead?

A little while ago, I overheard "Space is the Place" casually, but I have no recollection of it. An immediate re-listen is a must!

I agree, the best of the Sabs. Do you know the Pentagram?
Gallon Drunk You, The Night... And The Music

Heard: they are a more obsessive and tribal version of the Gun Club. Amazing!

But is this earlier or Lysol by the Melvins? Because one is the spitting image of the other; Dopesmoker is a 63-minute version of Hung Bunny (which already wasn’t short, far from it). They don’t just resemble each other, they’re really the same song.
