Minutemen The Punch Line

Mopaga, for a long time I also thought that all the songs on Double Nickels sounded the same. It took about a year to really get into it, but it's one of those few albums that is truly worth exploring.

:D Well, it's not a competition to see who can make the shortest songs. And brevity isn't the standout feature of this fantastic band, in my opinion. For example, Orthrelm made an album of 99 "songs," stuff that's unbearable to listen to. The Minutemen creatively synthesized a lot of material (Beefheart, CCR, Wire, Pop Group, etc...) managing to create perfect skeletons of "normal songs" in their incompleteness.

"the greatest bassist of all time," another exaggeration. But it’s fair enough. One thing is certain: the Minutemen were an amazing band. Really, what a band. @bonny91: during the same period they also released a single. "Joy": three tracks, total length 3 minutes and twelve seconds. wow!

Maybe five stars is an exaggeration, but the album is amazing. Their most stripped-down and essential work, one of those I enjoy listening to the most (also because you put it on... and it’s over right away!).
John Zorn Cobra: Studio Version

Really, congratulations on the review. And Zorn is an artist with a discography that could drown us seriously; for now, my favorites are the Naked City. By the age of eighty, I might have listened to a third of his records.

Not my favorites (after all, neither are Royal Trux), but still a group I respect.

Oops, I see now that you're 16 years old. The review isn't badly written at all (it's certainly not the usual garbage that comes out every day - but I won't even stop to comment on that). It just tackles the album in a somewhat superficial manner and every now and then falls into unjustly terse statements (whatever that means). Hey, nice jump from Queen to Tom Waits! :D

Rating of 1, dry. I don’t agree on almost anything (then the quotes from Ondarock). The album is indisputable.
