How can’t you hear the folk??? The REM one is 60s folk-rock. Like the Byrds, but less pissi-pissi.

"Rediscovery," in fact, not "innovation" :)

Everything Falls Apart is the album, then they added In a Free Land / What Do I Want / M.I.C., which is a single from '82, two outtakes (Statues, which is the extended edit of a track already available elsewhere, and Let's Go Die), a b-side (Amusement), and a demo (Do You Remember). Speaking of REM: I like them too, nothing to say, but what's revolutionary about playing folk-rock (even with all their peculiarities)?

Yes, but the REM didn't revolutionize anything, much less in the underground of the '90s. Spitting on it, no way. // Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament were part of the pre-grunge scene, starting no revolution at all.

(by the way, it's one of the most melodic old-school hardcore records...)

Well, what is written in the review is as debatable as Hetzer's biased statement.

True punk? They couldn't handle the instruments? Very low sales?
