x matt7 - it's not about defending, it's just about being objective! how can you say that writing a punk song is bullshit! just because they use the same 4 chords for 3 minutes instead of doing 800 useless solos (see DT)! let's say it might be technically easier to play a punk piece than a prog one (but even this is up for debate...)! to wrap it up, nobody here has questioned the skill (understood as the ability to play and not to compose!!!) of your beloved DT; what I can't stand is, as easy has pointed out multiple times, their arrogance, aimed solely at making a crude display of technical grandeur...

x lux: you find the technique at the core of music, while x easy the heart of it lies in expressiveness. now, if it is truly essential for you that a band is incredibly technically gifted for you to listen to them, go ahead, but you can't deny what easy said earlier; that is, the importance of certain bands for the development of music over the years, and the role (in my opinion vital) that expressiveness plays in the creations of a band... tastes are tastes, but then common sense also comes into play! hi :)
