Ornella Vanoni Live At Blue Note
Voto:
@ Highlande: Vanoni, despite the imitation of Sabani (rest in peace), can still be heard. Perhaps it's more accurate to say that it can't be seen: I have the DVD of the concert with Paoli and some close-ups are gruesome: maybe some unsuccessful cosmetic work. Luckily, it's a musical DVD, so the video isn't essential.
Ornella Vanoni Live At Blue Note
Voto:
The voice is still there, and so is the character, especially when avoiding embarrassing duets (like those with Ramazzotti and Jovanotti on the albums released a couple of years ago) and offering refined proposals like this one. Between Vanoni and Mina, there’s a four-decade-long dualism: it's a matter of sentiment versus technique. I have always appreciated both of them for their vocal abilities, for their repertoire (even if Mina manages to extract something more from mediocre songs), and for their personality.
Paulo Coelho Veronika decide di morire
Voto:
Smug and predictable.
Alan Ball Towelhead/Nothing is private - Niente velo per Jasira
Voto:
I quote Bartleboom, although I am less convinced than he is.
Kylie Minogue Body Language
Voto:
I've always regarded her as a step above many of her peers, closer to seduction than to music. Judging by the cover, her "Body Language" is very effective.
New Trolls Searching For A Land
Voto:
Well done, Rock70. I also think that New Trolls are more linked to hard rock than to prog; probably, along with Garybaldi by Bambi Fossati, they were the Italian group most influenced by the Hendrix experience. Compared to the other great bands of the time (BMS, PFM, Orme, Osanna, Area), I place them a step below, due to lesser originality and continuity. The complex events of the lineup, with various splits, reunifications, and parallel projects, do not seem to have been helpful. Until next time.
Stephen King Cuori in Atlantide
Voto:
Heartbreaking. I consider King one of the best and most original contemporary storytellers; even in the last 10 years, I’ve read very little of him. I know little or nothing about his "non-horror" work, so I’m voting on trust.
Zucchero Chocabeck
Voto:
I heard 3-4 songs last night from Fazio, and the villager from Roncocessi seemed more sober than usual: the fact that he avoided the trivialities of the past seems noteworthy and praiseworthy to me. I'm uncertain about the rating: 2 seems too little, and 3 seems excessive.
Sidney Lumet Serpico
Voto:
A great character, this Serpico. And Lumet and Al Pacino are great too...
Gianni Drudi Fiky Fiky
Voto:
And then there's Dante from Telefoggia...
