I understand, but I was supposed to review "Amalgamut"... and then filling a review with garbage about that album doesn't help to get a real idea of what it's like!!!

You can only find someone who’s called Stupid, haha just kidding... long live the NIN Filter, don’t release shit records, it’s better that way. By the way, Richard Patrick has another band called "Army Of Anyone," did you know? I still don’t know anything about them, what about you? I don’t think so otherwise you would have mentioned it...

No, because there’s more electronics, it’s a softer and more catchy album (not too much) compared to Short Bus, which is a masterpiece because it’s intense—maybe someone else would hate it. It’s an alternative rock album of remarkable level. Of course, if you’re looking for chaos, listen to the early QOTSA and hit the road, but I like them; they’ve worn me out a bit but only after years and years…. Sure, I still prefer NIN to them, but Filter aren’t bad... and it’s not commercial...

Seen as a debut, Filter didn’t take the world by storm, but they became known later as continuators of the genre left to them by the Stone Temple Pilots, and in my opinion, they were heavily influenced by them in their writing style. Now, if you come to tell me that the first one feels like listening to a White Zombie album, I’d say that they were trash-industrial while Filter is rock (post-grunge)-industrial (for the electronics). To me, they are simply unique and innovative... I’m eagerly awaiting their fourth work, hoping they return to their roots.

It's definitely not nu metal... it's rock with electronic influences, but it's much more rock than the previous ones. I mean, if that's not rock, what is it??

but it would have sounded like something by Simple Plan...

You have to make a comparison by force; the first one is more raw, spontaneous, and post-grunge, while the second is more polished, electronic, and in my opinion, catchier than the first, which is quite tough to get into. I would say these are the two albums by Filter; the other one doesn't count because it's terrible. Anyway, "Welcome to The Fold" is amazing, and you can tell that here he's playing the rock he loves. If he had wanted to commercialize, he wouldn't have continued on the third one...

the entire guitar in "Broken" and in the live concerts of the first NIN "Pretty Hate Machine" is entirely played by Patrick and Trent together. If you download the video of "Gave Up" by NIN, you see Patrick playing guitar in a house alongside Marilyn Manson and Trent Reznor... get informed...
