no no no: SLOW DOWN! Load and Reload are two masterpieces. You say it’s not Metal? Exactly, it’s Hard Rock. But well done, and I would dare to say very original. That our people wanted to pass it off as a "punch in the stomach" is another story. BUT if considered as heavy Rock albums, they are excellent.

I agree on Fas Ite by Deathspell Omega, on Genesis by Job For A Cowboy, and only partially on Cephalic Carnage. The rest didn’t appeal to me, even though I don’t know many of the ones you mentioned.

I think it was a decent year only for the very, very extreme stuff (Brutal Death and Slam); for the rest, it was pretty gross.

The Satyricon do black but they're very different from Darkthrone. I highly recommend Nemesis Divina. As for funeral doom, I'll just mention two names: Evoken and Esoteric. But it's a genre that you might not like. The Poè and I don't really get along. It rarely manages to engage me, and only the saddest and most maudlin stuff does (not all, to be clear). I love the '70s pop more; the current stuff says very little to me.
