Let me give you an example: Carcass are grindgore (I'm talking about the early ones), Cannibal Corpse are brutal gore, and the early Skinless were absurd brutal gore. In the sense that despite brutal gore bands like Cannibal or Severe Torture addressing splatter themes, they don’t make light of it at all. The early Skinless played a similar genre, treating it with irony.

One of the albums that introduced me to "extreme" metal, if we want to call it that, but that's fine as long as you're 15, angry with the world, and easily fooled by marketing gimmicks. Anyone who understands anything about music should realize that the technical skills of these guys are mediocre, and the songs aim more to shock and engage than to communicate.
