"...the girl asks Pink what kind of service he wants to receive and nonetheless poses him various questions first, but he (who is probably either gay or stupid "you mustn't laugh") doesn't spare her a glance, sits down, and starts watching documentaries on World War." Don’t you think this sentence is decidedly sexist? Refusing a sexual relationship is not necessarily synonymous with homosexuality. The other alternative for you is to be "stupid": while for you stupid might be synonymous with a mental disorder, it is evident even to the most distracted observer that Pink is a fragile person. As for sexuality, it’s quite common that during a “psychic crisis” it may be marginal or absent. The explosion of Pink's violence towards the girl can also be explained (and among the many determining factors) in terms of strong frustration stemming from the lack of communication between the two. Pink communicates his discomfort, and the girl misunderstands this discomfort by trying to utilize a sexualized interaction: hence the wall between them, the lack of communication, the pathological explosion of the interaction into violence.

For Vinsex: I don't think I've written a two-star review. Why this rating?
Porcupine Tree Deadwing
Voto:
I've listened to several albums by Porcupine Tree, often deriving great feelings from them. I have never heard this album EXCEPT for "The Start of Something Beautiful": this song, in my opinion, is sensational. This is the first point where I diverge from your considerations. The second is related to the band's success: can you explain to me where you've seen all this "cheering audience"? On the contrary, they seem to me a relatively unknown band, unfortunately. For the rest, the review is well-written and well-reasoned. It's clear that you're not crazy about them. Can you point me to a band with a higher artistic potential given the same level of success?

Do you know the song "Profiles" by the duo Mason and Stewart? It has a strong 10cc vibe. Although I’m not crazy about it. As for the reviewed album, I find it nice, whimsical, and a bit crazy. However, five stars is too much for me...

Nice review, although some sentences are a bit confusing. However, in substance, we completely agree! Floydman, despite the name, is truly unqualifiable. I won't add anything else to avoid offending him.

@Jim. I haven't checked the posts on this review for a while. Yet, when the discussion was very lively, I used to check often. I always make sure that I don't receive any notifications when a review gets commented on because I hate having a full inbox: when there's a discussion I'm interested in, I check the reviews, but if after a week I don't find new messages, I stop checking. I always have the impression that you want to have the last word on everything, but I, unlike you, might be wrong! In fact, you waited quite some time (JimMorrison | 21/10/2006 | 12:48) since my last message (Shine | 5/9/2006 | 19:27) to have the last word and not be contradicted.

I have always read all your posts carefully. The work of decontextualizing some parts of our discussion and the deliberate omission of many passages seems to belong to you. It takes a lot of nerve to claim otherwise. I ask other users to take a stand and say something about it. Also, it seems to me that I spoke at length about sources. Inaccuracies can be found in both the texts from “Ricordi” and in the recorded interviews (audio and video), where there are quite a few inconsistencies. Maybe the latter are a bit more reliable, but to say that "a good 90% of the material that is in a VERY commercial form in those bookstores tells a sea of nonsense, just to sell" is absolutely paranoid: the Bulgarian gay secret services keep us away from the truth about the apostles Pink Floyd and the prophet Barrett! You are very intelligent and have written several reviews of great value, but in order to be right, you are capable of climbing the walls.
Steve Hackett Wild Orchids

Nice review, but the album doesn't always convince me. Perhaps by reducing his prolific output, Hackett would produce albums with fewer fillers. Nevertheless, among the Genesis, he is the one I find most convincing today. I loved Gabriel in the early albums, but his "ethnic pop" direction has never excited me. I also don’t agree with the judgment on The Division Bell, but the attitudes of the floydman are really childish.

Beautiful review, Joe. However, I would have focused more on the wonderful Brother up in heaven. On the contrary, I hate Cross's voice, irritating for my tastes.
