Metallica Cunning Stunts

I haven't found it yet, but from the tracklist, I would say that only the last part of the first disc and the second one are salvageable. Live shit is on another planet, I imagine... good as the first review.

You're superficial if you think that just because Newsted learned the Metallica songs in 2 weeks, it means they are easy bass lines. CLIFF WAS THE SOUL OF METALLICA! Look at how Newsted ended up after that—always haunted by his shadow in everything he did. In AJFA, they lowered the bass so it wouldn't be heard. In Metallica, he wanted to make the intro of "My Friend of Misery" an instrumental track of the album (naturally, it was much longer), and he was told, "Sit down and don't joke." He was never truly integrated into the band because every single member always thought, "You are not Cliff LEE Burton!" Everything revolved around him. And not just the technique or speed. The charisma, the personality, the musical ear, the compositions, the style, the calmness, the rage, and everything else that set Cliff apart defined the group until he disappeared. You name bassists who at that age didn't do what Cliff did. PLEASE: LET'S STOP SAYING STUPID THINGS! We could sit here for hours talking about it, but it wouldn’t change a thing. Cliff is gone, and with him, Metallica as a thrash metal band is gone.

---speech from many comments ago---- poddoski I didn't say that sales reflect the qualities of a band. But there is certainly a difference between the success of the black album and the subsequent works. "Metallica" was a much faster album and Bob Rock slowed it down. He did some damage, that's true... Anyway, maybe I don't understand a damn thing, but at 18 years old and with trust in a band that was essential in my adolescence, I still have it.

The works with Cavallera are all beautiful. Then there are also the masterpieces, of course. Unfortunately, everyone knows their recent history... but how did you manage to spend 50 dollars for the Nirvana????

Guys, Cliff was a great bassist for his age. As a composer, in terms of technique, power, potential for improvement, and ear (he listened to Bach not by chance). If he hadn't died so young, we probably wouldn't be here discussing who's the God of bass or who's the best in the world............. those would be obvious discussions...

I don't believe that in '82 Metallica were supported by MTV. And they weren't for a long time. Until they decided to make their first music video: One.

It's a cover of Diamond Head, a band highly appreciated by Metallica, especially by Ulrich. The solo is by Kirk.
