Indeed, it is a very special album; they drag some tracks out a bit too much and end up becoming tiresome (which has always been the case, in my opinion). However, Trujillo is truly an exceptional bassist, certainly no less than Burton and definitely more than Newsted. Hetfield started to incorporate backing vocals because after the black album he (finally) began taking singing lessons. Obviously, de gustibus... (many fans still like "that off-key sound"). Anyway, I wouldn’t be so harsh in rating this album a 1... only time will tell if it adds something to their career or if it’s yet another step backward. You could have been a tad more diplomatic...

I haven't downloaded it, so I can't comment on the specifics. Nevertheless, the review is clear and effective. I agree with Punisher regarding the rating: if you define it as "a good album, not a masterpiece," then a 5 shouldn't be there.
