One of the few films that marked my childhood and I still enjoy today, it has stood the test of time. Among the best teen films of all time!

I understand Fidia's feelings, and while I don't share them, I don't entirely consider them wrong either. However, knowing myself, I wouldn't resort to tooth for a tooth in a personal case (not in an extreme manner), simply because I would ruin my life because of some jerk, and because I think that wandering piece of shit probably suffered the same treatment as a child, because no human being chooses to be a pedophile, at least in my opinion. I don't want to justify them, quite the opposite, but I wouldn't do anything but make things worse. The boy needs true love and affection, not a vengeful father.

I could only watch a little over half an hour of this film, and what I saw is excellent, superior in some ways even to Tarantino. My judgment is biased, though, so I won't vote.

I'm stuck at Counterparts with Rush, and sooner or later I'll listen to this one too, and I hope to be there on October 3rd for their concert in Milan. During their last Italian tour, everyone was excited about their performance; in fact, live they are amazing, at least that comes through from the DVDs.

If we think this way, then Bush (or rather those behind him) deserves the death penalty, even more than some pedophiles. In Iraq, more than 600,000 people have died, hundreds of thousands of families have been devastated. So either one accepts the death penalty in its entirety or one does not accept it at all. Strangely, the psyche of modern man is such that thousands of individuals killed evoke less horror than a news story about a homicide. Sorry for the off-topic remark, I've heard great things about the film even from a layperson; I will see it sooner or later!

the usual Hollywood thriller. I don’t like the review, first of all because it’s not true that the film is confusing; the flaws of the film are different, indeed the epilogue is a good twist. Unfortunately, it’s a film with little depth, one that you watch once and then forget. The premises, as you said, are excellent, but then the film gets lost in the usual flaws of American thrillers in recent years, namely a plot that feels empty, made solely to lead us to the mystery and the final revelation, in short, a disposable film, enjoyable and entertaining but nothing more. I really like Jim Carrey and just for him I raise the film's rating to 3; all in all, it was fun to watch the film, even though in some sequences it was embarrassing for its banality.

psychopompe I agree with you about Striscia and Lucignolo, but it has nothing to do with Jim Carrey.

In dramatic roles, Carrey never manages to be...dramatic, indeed his performance in "The Truman Show" is melancholic. That said, "The Truman Show" is a beautiful film that devours "Liar Liar" for breakfast, but here we were discussing Carrey the actor. It's not just about making faces, but about naturalness. Not liking his comedy films is another matter, but a comedian of his caliber in Hollywood hasn't been seen in many, many years...

Among all those mentioned, only the foreigner and the dare are the ones we could define as "pure" AOR; the magnum mostly do pomp-rock with many AOR influences, they had an "American" period but sales were poor. I haven't listened to the europe well, but from what I read in magazines and from what little I've heard, they seem to be melodic hard rock. Anyway, it doesn’t seem to me that def leppard are really AOR; in their early days, it is well-known that they were a pure heavy metal band, later we could talk about pop rock and not AOR. The house lords, the giant, and the journey remain unbeatable for me (however, for the first two groups, the AOR label is too narrow). Among the European bands capable of rivaling them, I would include the ten.

I go by feelings, because I should rewatch the film, but it didn't thrill me much either.
