Afterhours I milanesi ammazzano il sabato

I think I’ll buy it today. I’ll listen and then, maybe, I’ll go back to vote for it. They can be a pain in the ass, but it’s undeniable that up until "Quello Che Non C'è" they’ve always churned out some great work and "Hai Paura Del Buio?" is one of the top ten Italian albums of the '90s. Only the "Ballate Per Piccole Iene" were a bit weak... as for the reviewer and his disgusting review (biased critique and clichés galore), I would point out the excerpt, “The Afterhours are nothing more than a pleasant tribute band to listen to live, of Afghan Whigs, Screaming Trees (above all), Suicide (compare "Ghost rider" with "Milano Circonvallazione esterna), Jimi Hendrix (All along the watchtower VS Non sono immaginario)." The Suicide-Afterhours comparison is copied verbatim from Wikipedia. The Screaming Trees have less in common with the Afterhours than a pussy and two tits. At this point, I also wonder if the writer is aware that "All Along..." is by Dylan and not Jimi Hendrix. Afterhours a tribute band of the Afghan Whigs? Some doubts remain. Frankly, when the two careers were running parallel, divided by the Atlantic Ocean, I see very few similarities even today. They must have exchanged something after a while, I presume.
So, if you prefer to listen to Le Vibrazioni, go ahead... I'll wait for you outside with "Lasciami Leccare L'Adrenalina" in my headphones...

They might annoy me, but it's undeniable that until "Quello Che Non C'è," they consistently produced some great works, and "Hai Paura Del Buio?" is one of the ten best Italian albums of the '90s. Only the "Ballate Per Piccole Iene" were a bit weak... Regarding the reviewer and his abominable review (a prejudicial takedown full of clichés), I'd point out the excerpt "The Afterhours are nothing but a pleasant tribute band to listen to live, reminiscent of Afghan Whigs, Screaming Trees (above all), Suicide (compare "Ghost rider" with "Milano Circonvallazione esterna), Jimi Hendrix (All along the watchtower VS Non sono immaginario)." The Suicide-Afterhours comparison is taken word-for-word from Wikipedia. The Screaming Trees have less to do with the Afterhours than a cock and two tits. At this point, I also wonder if the writer knows that "All Along..." is by Dylan and not Jimi Hendrix. Afterhours as a tribute band to Afghan Whigs? Some doubts remain. Frankly, when the two careers were running parallel across the Atlantic Ocean, I still see very few similarities today. They must have exchanged something afterwards, I presume. So, if you prefer to listen to Le Vibrazioni, be my guest... I'll stay outside waiting for you with "Lasciami Leccare L'Adrenalina" in my headphones...

Simply a masterpiece of a record.

A modest opinion (mine, so everything that follows is what I think and believe, and only I): 2 stars are a bit few for this album. Among the fab4, I much prefer "Revolver." I wouldn't say the album is overrated; on the contrary... we must consider the era it was released in, the groundbreaking artwork for those times, the fact that innovative recording techniques were used for the first time (and, let me say, the Beatles really set the standard in this field until the invention of 16-track recording). The only weak point is not "Within you..." (one of the most "hip" tracks of that "superhip" '67) but rather "When I'm Sixty-Four." You cannot, and I repeat, absolutely CANNOT confuse "Strawberry" with "Mr. Kite" in a review... See you later.

Thank you. But reading it again, it doesn't seem that beautiful to me... Maybe a 3.5. I'll give it a three so I can average...

No, no, no... the most guitar-heavy is "Monster." No doubt about it. Thurston Moore was even there... if he's not guitar-heavy, I don't know who is. It's a struggle to listen to a whole album...
