Good morning Jim, I'm replying right away. Just because we are here discussing it, in my opinion, it shows that there isn’t a widespread opinion on who is, let’s say colloquially, on the side of the good and who is on the side of the bad. Otherwise, in the past, I wouldn’t have been taught that the Irish gained independence through terrorism, or that the Indians, as you say, were "raiders, scalpers, uncivilized," or that the indigenous people met their fate simply because they didn’t want to be evangelized, or that Palestinians could easily go to Jordan or Syria and it’s unclear why they cause so many problems, etc., etc., etc.

Thanks again to everyone for the comments.
Okay Nick, no one will dare to steal your review, don't worry ;).
Speaking of Parker, one of his films that left a strong impression on me is Angel Heart.
A dark thriller like few others in my opinion. I think I'll gladly talk about it sooner or later if no one else does.

Alias, so you think exactly like me and Jim. Trell says the exact opposite.

Jim, you can’t believe how happy I am about your intervention. I was about to think I had been living in a world all my own and that I had always been affected by schizophrenia. ;)

There's even someone who told me (at a more advanced age) that the Irish achieved independence through terrorism and bombs. Well, I must have had some terrible mentors. Goodbye dear ones. Bye bye.

This is not Alias.
I may have been born in a strange environment, but at school, since elementary school, I was told that the Indians were the bad guys.
That the South American indigenous people did not want to accept the help of the generous white Europeans who wanted to bring civilization and Catholicism there, and for this, they committed unjustified massacres against the colonizers.
Damn, in University I even attended a conference on how the historical perspective on the Native American/white dichotomy has been falsified.
I don’t think it would have been necessary if it were taken for granted by everyone that the Indians have always been the “good guys.”

What can I say, Trell, it might be that it was me and all my peers and childhood friends who grew up with these beliefs...

Indeed it is so. But who knows why, for example, children believe that the Native Americans (almost entirely exterminated) are the bad guys who kill so many innocent whites. The same goes for the Indians and all the other tribes of Central and South American natives. Terrible people they were, they did well to carry out a holocaust.

Trell, I'm making a speech in general. Replace "Scots" with "Irish," "Native Americans," "Palestinians," "Vietnamese"....
