You see, Fallen, the difference between us lies in this.
I have always been very pragmatic, rational, instinctive.
I don’t love philosophy; I studied law, and my profession reflects that.
So, when you write to me, ā€œis there really much difference between planning the Holocaust and planning, to say something stupid, not letting anyone pass without giving them a fine?ā€ I inevitably interpret it as putting the two things on the same level because, honestly, I couldn’t care less about various philosophical theories on human action and all that.
I don’t question it.
You wrote that, for me it is exactly that, end of discussion.
It is undoubtedly a completely different mindset; I know that, and I certainly don’t claim that mine is better.
But I’m just telling you that with someone like me, it’s certainly not easy to start a conversation like the one you want to pursue because, first of all, I’m not interested, and then because, from my perspective, they are empty, useless discussions.
The essence, for me, is entirely different. Bye.

Not to mention what happens in Africa, a continent that has been raped for centuries and knowingly and willfully kept in a feudal system that only benefits the various warlords, who are also often supported by those we know who.

Skoiz, I am a proud supporter of the fact that anyone stained by inhumane crimes, beyond all ideologies (I mentioned Pol Pot and Ceausescu in my first comment), is non-human and, therefore, a beast. It is true that people often tend to forget what happened beyond the Iron Curtain. Just as they tend to forget what the Central and South American military regimes backed by the United States have done. We would need many films, in fact.

I thank Occulto.
Fallen, I honestly find what you say absurd.
I mean, explain to me, how can you compare the Shoah with the so-called plan implemented by the controller to issue a fine?
That man is the worst beast is beyond doubt, and people like Hitler are there to prove it.
I simply believe that anyone who does inhumane things (the very word inhumane means not human, not from a human being) is a beast and not a man.
If you or I were to commit a crime or an inhumane act in the future, we would, for that reason, be not human and, therefore, beasts.

Yes Pep, you are right, 6 million Jews and almost 60 million total deaths.

Um.. I meant Perlasca, not Vallanzasca. The latter is better off staying in prison.

Mors omnia solvit, the Latins used to say, but I believe it’s not true. The dead are not all the same; I do not consider the death of Mengele or Himmler to be equal to that of Vallanzasca or Schindler. For me, those who were pieces of shit in life will be remembered as pieces of shit even in death.

@Bubi: what you say is true, but being from Puglia, I would never dream of saying that the perfect man is from Lucania :DD

"The difference between Hitler and an irritated metro inspector is just a matter of scale."
Now, this is a completely unfounded and erroneous statement.
A fit of madness can strike the more fragile among us, and we see evidence of this every day.
But a criminal plan so meticulously crafted can only be the product of a sick mind.
And let it be clear that I make no distinctions with people like Pol Pot or Ceaușescu, among the first that come to mind.
Here, this is indeed a matter of scale.
