In the realm of gothic metal, aside from the Paradise Lost you mention, there are true gems like, for example, the early albums of Moonspell, some of Gathering, the discography of Katatonia, the more doom-influenced ones like the early Anathema, the first My Dying Bride, the first Theatre of Tragedy, October Rust by Type O Negative, "wildhoney" by Tiamat, and I'm sure I’ll forget many others. So, avoid calling the donkey 'horned'."

The review is very well written and thoroughly justified. I listened to the album, and it seems like the classic record filled with catchy melodies crafted specifically to impress the younger audience. Easily memorable hooks dense with a déjà vu of the most obvious kind. A rating of 1 is out of the question, but 2 is more than deserved.

A friend of mine bought this CD and lent it to me. Well, listening to it only confirmed my impressions from when I listened to some of Death in June's stuff a while ago, and that is, it’s a total bore. Maybe it's just that I'm not really inclined towards this kind of music, but I find it terribly tedious.
