Christian Death Pornographic Messiah

I hate Valor too. I haven't listened to this record and the one you mentioned, "Scriptures," but the others by Kand are awful. Even Atrocities and Ulso, etc. etc., which some have considered their best records. The latest, American Inquisition, is really garbage. Valor Kand is just a filthy poser and, as Electrcione says, an usurper.

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions about the books.
Fallen, I didn't write that partisans are men of peace.
I made a distinction in the ending: the people who lived during those years and wanted and acted for peace, and the partisans who acted to liberate Europe from Nazifascism.
Perhaps the reference to the partisans is unrelated, but I felt it was important to include it.
Then I know perfectly well that the partisans were men of action and not of peace (and how could it have been otherwise?).

Both Clan of Xymox and Nephilim are, in my opinion, heavily indebted to the Sisters of Mercy. Electricone, don't take it personally, we understand that Vortex hates all his late teenage bands, which he consistently gives a 1 to, without actually explaining his disdain. I believe it's the same syndrome that affects me when I listen to the new works of, I don't know, Metallica or Iron Maiden. The difference is that, however, I can recognize the historical importance of the old records of Metallica or Iron, even if I haven't listened to them in ages. As for the album, it's the only one from the gothic period (the one before the pointless last album) of the Nephilim that I don't own. But the other three studio albums have made FoN undeniably (and no matter what Vortex says) one of the most important and fascinating dark bands ever.

Prefacing that I don't give a damn about this group, as Ferretti used to say, I heard that Meg doesn't want to play because a video has been circulated online showing her having fun with her partner in various positions. I’ve seen it too, and indeed, it does look like her. I recommend checking it out; it’s definitely interesting, especially to discover her side A, which is truly striking.

It's a shame that this beautiful piece goes unnoticed.
Honestly, I don't go crazy for the ebm by Skinny Puppy or Front Line Assembly.
Too heavy for my tastes.
Do you know Yendri? He makes a type of ebm (I hope I'm not talking nonsense) that's softer and more melodic, which I really like.
If you know any ebm groups of this kind, let me know so I can give them a listen.

Black Sabbath may not be to everyone’s taste, but to say they haven’t been one of the most influential and important bands in history seems to me like pure heresy.
As for the rest, I fully agree with everything that woodcock said, which I believe he articulated clearly and comprehensively about the uselessness of both the album and the character.

"Bowie of metal," "great record," oh mom, how many of these do I have to read.
Let's scale down this mediocre album where Manson, as always, plays at imitating Alice Cooper and Rozz Williams (the scene in the title track's clip where he tears out pages from the Bible is a blatant copy of Rozz, who did these things—and even worse—15 years earlier; in fact, I would sue him for plagiarism), where he tries to recreate more industrial sounds but ends up seasoning the songs with so many noises and sound effects that are absolutely out of place (the previous hard rock Manson was much better), and composing songs that, in the long run, aside from being annoying, all end up sounding the same.
In short, one of the biggest charlatans in the history of music, both musically and in terms of the artistic persona he has created.

"It was 1990 and even though I wasn't there, I doubt this album sold very well."
You're mistaken. The album sold decently and the clip for "Type" was often aired even by Deejay Television (note, not in the metal section). They also held a concert in Milan during those years that was practically sold-out (I hope that's spelled right).
"I actually think this record didn’t make an impact at all..." Again, I believe you are very mistaken, as many bands from the funky era that followed mention them as an inspiring band.
This was a record highly appreciated by both critics and the public, from metal fans as well as from other music enthusiasts.
I really appreciate Living Colour, partly because they were, I believe, the first (and perhaps only) band to try playing heavy music (albeit heavily influenced) dominated by white musicians.
Moreover, they are also excellent musicians and the songs from "Time's Up" prove that.
It's a remarkable album (even though I’m not a fan of their music genre) and definitely deserves a high rating, also for what it historically represented.

This, thanks to the wise advice of Bartle and Psychopompe, I've put on the list.
Dull, for God's sake, try to commit more and don't send 10 all at once, because this way you take space away from the other reviews.
