Here’s another one of those usual idiots who dresses up as a provocateur and hurls invectives from the height of his absolute ignorance.
It's so clever to give a 1 to an album you've never heard, right?
What a smart move.

Let it be clear that I really like the first two, Dance of December Souls and Brave Murder Day, as well. But, for a newcomer to the band, it might be better to start with Discouraged Ones. Unless, of course, you like growl vocals. In that case, start with Dance...

No, Attila, you got it wrong in responding to him. Santi is just a provocateur who enjoys spreading crap about a genre he doesn't know (as shown by the fact that he gave a 1 to an album he surely hasn't even listened to), and therefore he's fundamentally ignorant because he believes that the whole genre is filled with the usual clichés. Let him live in his ignorance, don’t respond to him anymore.

Absolutely yes, Festwca. From Discouraged Ones onwards, it’s absolutely all worth getting. Defining Katatonia as metal is extremely reductive and basically inaccurate, just like many others that have had more or less their musical evolution (anathema, tiamat, paradise lost, opeth, lacrimas profundere, the gathering, therion, cathedral, amorphis, and others). By now, the future of this genre is contamination with various sounds (gothic above all, but also electronic, folk, progressive, psychedelia, etc.). Of course, let’s not confuse the contamination I’m talking about with the horrible nu sounds. In my opinion, one of the best bands around in the whole musical landscape.

A round of applause for the unsettling muses of maestro De Chirico!

Very good, I agree with everything.
The album is truly awful (by the way, I wasn't too crazy about Psalm 69, which I have on vinyl, even though New World Order was really heavy).
The System of a Down are utterly useless, just like almost all American metal, whether nu or old, that clings to nu to make money (Metallica, Slayer, even Dream Theater, etc.) which has now objectively become nonsense.
The fake musical anarchism against Bush has definitely gotten on my nerves (however, to be fair, I believe that Ministry has always had anti-Republican themes) and is completely superficial.
Therefore, it should be abolished, along with the various Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen of the moment.
We want music, not political proclamations!
I just hope that Type O Negative doesn't fall into this cliché.
Paradise Lost One Second

Sufficient album, especially compared to the poor Host and Believe in Nothing, some songs are noteworthy (above all, in my opinion, the title track), but ultimately nothing compared to the previous works or the last two, Symbol of Life and the self-titled last one.
