Come on, Melissa is right, but still, what does it matter if someone has a female or male nickname? Making it a state issue only to end up in unnecessary insults seems really excessive to me. From what little I know him, he has always behaved correctly here on DeB, and that's the most important thing (besides writing excellent reviews). The same cannot be said for dozens of other users who comment daily, leaving posts filled with childish provocations and easy insults. Take it out on them instead. P.S.: many thought I was a woman because of my nickname, but it’s pointless to say they were just ignorant.

Anyway, I will try to listen to him.

If that's the case, they also did a cover of ABBA.
I have serious doubts that this album deserves 5 stars; from what little I’ve heard, I found them to be quite forgettable.

I couldn't care less about Anathema's latest releases, given that I haven't listened to one of their albums in eternity. As for the discussion about extreme music, 47, if you don't believe I was referring to metal, I really don't know what to do about it; maybe next time you can come over and inject me with a bit of truth serum. Perhaps we'll see what Scaruffi thinks of Burzum to decide whether to include it in the essential extreme music discography.

Or rather, there is an attempt to return to the origins (Draconian Times) but with poor results.

Alright Lux, we've cleared things up, but the album where the PL try to play Depeche Mode, with terrible results in my opinion, is the previous Host. With this one, there's a return to the roots, but I find it a terribly boring album.

Lux, I was posting comments on a review about Paradise Lost, so it seemed completely obvious that I was referring to metal that has nothing to do (not at all) with Swans and very little with Neurosis. It seems to me that your comment was thrown in there just to show that you understand, that’s all, even though I have my doubts that you might be too influenced by Scaruffi, since the things you say are repeated by that "scaruffone" on his website. As for NIN, I acknowledge that TDS is a very important album, but I still think it’s crap. And I can assure you that already about fifteen years ago or maybe more, when I bought The Silent Enigma, many specialized magazines - I repeat, even back then - were talking about it as a classic. I reiterate the term "specialized magazines" and not "music in general."

Flagellate me, but I like Mel Gibson, even if I recognize he's a jerk. And, for me, this is a 5-star film with honors.

Look, for me, it's the Nine and everything Reznor does that makes me sick. And then, when I refer to extreme music, of course, I was talking about metal and its derivatives, because, obviously, I would never compare Anathema to the albums you mentioned. Anyone with a bit of knowledge about metal and a bit of critical sense recognizes that *The Silent Enigma* is one of the best albums in extreme music (meaning metal and related genres). Just as anyone with a bit of critical sense would never dare to relate *The Silent Enigma* to the albums you mentioned, which objectively have nothing to do with "The Silent Enigma" for thousands of reasons. And this is always with respect to personal tastes. As for true gothic, I won’t express my thoughts because I could talk about it for hours and I honestly don't feel like it.
