Faith No More The Real Thing

I told you, Joe, your analysis seems too superficial and detached from the album. You talk about it in a way that’s too shallow and professional, as if you were writing for a specialized magazine (I unintentionally gave you a big compliment). But it’s a style of writing that I don’t like. Of course, it’s a matter of taste, and it could very well happen that I change my mind reading your upcoming reviews. Regards.

I am exclusively talking about the commercial aspect of the site and let it be clear, mine was not in the slightest a criticism aimed at the managers of De Baser. I simply expressed my personal opinion, which is that if any commercial operation disguised as a review were allowed (as those present seem to me, and if you don't believe it, go read the others), then everyone would feel entitled to promote anything and the site would become, I repeat, a sort of classifieds. Since it's free, what do you expect?

Dear Dave, I understand that advertising isn't free. Don't you think it's a bit petty to use a space open to everyone for advertising and, therefore, hope to profit from it? If such a thing were allowed, the site would quickly become a sort of yellow pages.

Guys, soon I will put my email address in all my reviews because I plan to sell all my vinyl records. For those who are interested, I'm also happy to share my mobile number.

Let me explain, Joe.
You give me the impression of reviewing the album while listening to it for the first time.
Make no mistake, you write very well, but I repeat, it’s as if you’re talking about the album as if you had just heard it for the first time a second ago and still didn’t know it completely, doing it just to give a judgment like professional critics who talk about an album after listening to it quickly and casually.
The difference, perhaps, is that they do it for work and you for pleasure.
This is just my feeling, it doesn’t mean I can't be wrong.

What an exaggeration, though.
I thank anyone who makes it possible for me to exist, whoever they may be.

But in fact it wasn’t a criticism of the sort "you didn't talk about the album."
After all, I have often heavily criticized overly pompous reviews that are truly irritating and that I can hardly stand. A carefree and fun writing style is absolutely fine, indeed.
But, perhaps mistakenly, every time I read a review that is just a load of crap, I get the impression that it was written to provoke a verbal boxing match with thousands of posts that inevitably descend into total vulgarity, with related insults to family members when it goes well, or worse, turning into racist proclamations of any kind.
This is a music site where carefree and emotional writings are certainly welcome; that goes without saying. But to read certain posts that really sink into the most disgusting lows—well, that shouldn't be accepted.
In the end, I don’t criticize the provocative shit intended to spark a musical discussion or anything else, but rather that which is specifically crafted to incite a fight that everyone knows will erupt.
Then, of course, I interpreted it this way, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t be completely wrong.

Caz, I don't think I've ever commented on a review of yours (even though I've read many), but I have to tell you that, honestly, I really don't like your style, and it's a shame because from reading some of your comments, it's undeniable that you're a well-prepared guy. I admit the originality and sharpness, but your writings give me the impression of being deliberately a bit provocative, in the sense that you write them just to look for the type to pick a fight with. An attitude that I don't share.

I'm not interested in reading the review. I just wanted to say that, while the historical significance of Motörhead and albums like this, Ace of Spades, or Orgasmatron (which I had all on vinyl) is undeniable, their music doesn't really excite me, except for what I consider an excellent album, namely 1916.
