exactly! but it’s a basic principle in general, not just for jazz: "if I have to spend 15/20 euros, let’s see on Debaser how I can avoid getting ripped off!!!" [the only thing I still struggle to understand is why editors don’t hesitate to publish colossal nonsense alongside beautiful pages; this undermines the principle above. it’s not even a matter of taste but rather common sense... well]

I’ll interject, forgive me: my favorite Jaco album is the self-titled first one, but for virgin ears (if they even exist anymore) I would recommend "Punk Jazz: The Anthology" - the classic compilation to give to the little cousin who is becoming too uptight.

Watch out, I'm going to lower your review score, huh?!! Spectrum is THE ANTHOLOGY by Tony Williams, a double gem from Verve that every lover of good music should have. This time I’ll let it slide... but next time I'll materialize out of your computer screen and strangle you. :-)

"the sound is in the head, not in the fingers" no: the sound is in the belly, not in the head.

[There are definitely stupid people who comment -often and willingly- inappropriately... oh well...] Wow, this is good and the preamble about the labels alone is worth the effort! "dissociated" and at times brilliant, you evoke the necessary interest for an album (that I don't know but) that might resemble your review a lot...

I've been listening to some tracks again for a couple of days, diving a bit into this one by Weather and a bit from Spectrum by Tony Williams [Lifetime], and I thought I would write something about it.
