I watched the movie in its original language, and I’d say the soundtrack fits really well. Truly spot on. Then I don’t understand why some see Supertramp as a hero and others see him as a fool. I have a good family situation. Yet, after I graduated, I left with the little money I had earned and bought a ONE-WAY ticket to Indonesia. In the end, I returned home because maybe I didn't have enough courage, but I was there for 4 months. I met people who traveled for years, nonstop—Australia, Asia, South America, Africa. I shared stories, laughed with strangers, and saw the world through the eyes of a child. Yet I’m a normal person. He was driven by a thirst for adventure, much like I was! He crossed boundaries and had a lot of bad luck, while I didn’t make it. But I’m still out there in the world finding new faces and hearing improbable stories... and I love it! Family has nothing to do with it, and it doesn't matter that he wasn’t doing well. He was hungry for adventure, to see, to know, to feel part of the world and not just the four walls of his nice house! Besides, he wanted to return in the spring, but the river was at flood level! So... he was really unlucky. I don't see all this rhetoric in the film… I just see a beautiful story told through the eyes of someone who wants to find out what’s behind a hill, through the eyes of someone who loves discovery, who knows how to enjoy silence, day and night. Nothing more than that… if that’s not enough.

Beautiful Alessio. In my opinion, DeGregori's early albums are all worth a full 5. No one has managed to combine words and poetry like he does. Perhaps less "bad" than DeAndrè, less direct... but at the same time much more "smooth," as they would say in English, more dreamy, more romantic. Alice was the song of my childhood, alongside his other classics, and it truly deserves a 5. It's a shame about the recent slips in style, not so much in terms of lyrics (still excellent) but rather due to the banality of the musical compositions.

Beautiful review. I've never even remotely heard of them! Are they findable through "back channels"?

Then the photos of the booklet, them inside the churches playing near the organs. With those scary nerd faces playing guitar for the on-call reverend! No guys, this won't do! Nostalgia is fine but the Connels really need to be eliminated physically even before musically!

If we are here to vote '74-'75, I agree to give it a 5, but the album is a terrible mess. Let's be honest! It's a cheap pop thing. The non-review, however, is really very nice. Don't buy this album...

memorable the ending of the film. Which I don’t want to spoil for anyone, so I won’t mention it. I forgot the ratings. @Supersoul: "chi si accontenta gode", "chi non risica non rosica". Points of view. I will never be locked up in an office. By the way... Vedder's soundtrack fits perfectly. When "hard sun" kicks in, I cried like a little calf. A sort of feeling of inner liberation.

I saw it at a time when I was psychologically very weak. I was leaving for Australia and leaving my girlfriend at home for 6 months. I was eagerly waiting for it, and it was perhaps one of the films that touched me the most. Deeply, also because I feel a bit like "Supertramp" myself. Beautiful, beautiful... subject to different interpretations, sweet but not cloying, a dreamer yet a realist. The cinematography, in my opinion, is spectacular; a shout-out to Sean Penn for translating the characters of a similarly excellent little book into images so well.

To be loved even just for the fourth minute of "tonto"...
