Not only... but I would like to add, Jim, that that hint of "unheard," although filled with enormous potential, is not taking off... Anyway, to those who accused me of references too jarring to TDB, upon rereading my words, I must reply that I also took the care to mention Animals and, above all, Obscured by Clouds, from which, in my opinion, "a time machine" has stolen the title track "On an Island."

Hal, among all the readers of this review, I believe you are the only one who is fundamentally and truly in agreement with me. Anyway, like you, I don’t exclude the possibility of reassessing it... but for now, no... definitely not!

I apologize to the audience for the numerous typos; they are the result of haste and a lack of proofreading.

Dear Enrico... your punctuation partly confirms the transhant tones from before. In any case, to respond: the comparison is with Division Bell for two main reasons. First, because that is Gilmour’s chronologically closest work. Second, because that work, although formally by Pink Floyd, is almost entirely born from his pen. Furthermore, no matter what you say to the contrary, the last Pink Floyd album has very high points. Technically, it is very well-crafted and the arrangements are superb. The comparison doesn’t go further because, in my modest opinion, the works done together with Waters are too heavily influenced by his inspiration and thus cannot be taken as a valid comparison. The idea I’ve formed is that Gilmour only reaches excellence when supported by other artists. Alone, he risks too often becoming flat due to his limited base creativity. And I say limited creativity because I compare him to Waters. What saves him is his characteristic touch on the Fender. Then, those who want can dissent, but no one can take away from my mind that, where Gilmour personalizes himself, the results are always inferior to anything else he has done with Pink.

Congratulations, excellent review, written with taste and very heartfelt. I fully agree with the content as well, although I might lower the rating a bit due to Kai's immature vocal performance and the rather mediocre production.

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but it seems to me that you confuse error with dissent. Not sharing the evaluation of a work, in my opinion, does not necessarily mean considering that evaluation erroneous and superficial. A review is erroneous when it does not adhere to the standards a review should have; for instance, when it strays from the work itself, evades commentary on the songs, and lacks a detailed discussion about the album and the artist, etc. etc. If these standards are respected, then if the "content" of the review turns out to be in opposition to the ideas of the reader, one should not (and cannot) say that the review is erroneous... this kind of evaluation pertains to the merit, to the essence of the review, and thus by definition escapes judgment, got it? Then regarding the supposed superficiality, what was I supposed to say about Take a Breath? Perhaps that it’s irritating because the vocal sighs in the chorus give the impression of a nervous twitch? I don't understand...! In any case, although I still have some points to contest, ultimately, this time I respect your argument. From what I’ve read, you seem to be well-versed in 70s prog. Until next time.

Mister Floydman... if no one has ever explained to you that a review is something subjective, then I will take the trouble to explain it to you here. An idea, an emotion, or an expectation arises based on inexplicable processes. Now, since you are not personalized objectivity, you do not have the right to write principled petitions like this: "totally wrong and superficial review." Who do you think you are, excuse me? Get off your pedestal, and if you want to dissent from my ideas, go ahead, but without that stupid omnipotence that oozes from your irritating comment. Regards... there you go.
