Claudio Di Biagio Dylan Dog - Vittima degli Eventi
Voto:
I do not agree with the criticisms regarding the pacing: I believe it is just like a comic book, and that’s exactly what the project aimed to do as a tribute to the medium. Aside from Dylan's questionable performance (monotone, lacking even a fraction of the charm that the paper-and-ink character had, and the references from the comic book (clarinet, sailboat) seem more self-referential than functional to the narrative), I wasn't completely convinced by the soundtrack. The sound effects were excellent, it's just that the music (inadequate) sometimes came out of nowhere. That said, considering how and why the project was created, giving it less than 4 stars is a crime, and even adding one more in the hope of a sequel.

Since Ghost Reveries, I haven't listened to anything by them, coinciding with a change in tastes. From the comments I've seen, it seems that starting again may not be a good idea... what a shame, before I lost track of them, they seemed to have done some very good things.

I've had this one sitting at three-quarters for a few months. Well-written, but it never grabbed me (and I have no issues with postmodernism, I also gulp down DFW in the original language, I like Ellis). I imagine if I had been American and read it about ten years ago (before other readings, in fact), I would have liked it a lot.

But without even thinking about it for a moment.
Joel & Ethan Coen A proposito di Davis
Voto:
Saw it tonight (in my area, it’s only showing at an art house cinema in one theater, watched it with maybe ten people if that), 4 full stars. I don't think it's one of their "minor" films; it lacked that certain something of the best Coen brothers' works, but the outcome is very good nonetheless. Superb cinematography.
John Zorn Madness, Love and Mysticism

It's not the Zorn I prefer, but I'll take note. Keeping up with that man is impossible.

gap to fill; good review, well done!
Joel & Ethan Coen A proposito di Davis

It seems to be a bit overlooked by the distribution, at least around my area; I'll watch it as soon as possible, I almost always like the little brothers.
