The phrase "with SERIOUS people I discussed with all possible calm" was absolutely not referring to you... I was talking about HetfieldGod with whom I had a healthy discussion unlike Trooper and Saputello... I didn't try to offend you in any way... as I already said, I respect your ideas... but I won't budge from mine... the Maiden, a historic band, okay... but their sellout in the '90s makes me assert what you criticized... I have never spoken negatively about their musical quality and their importance... but about their image... about the excessive merchandising... and everything that comes with it...
My judgment can be attributed to the fact that I'm not a long-time fan like you... maybe that's why I can't appreciate the iconography... which I consider pure advertising... not a matter of heart... they could have easily skipped the video game "Ed Hunter"... now I have to go out... but if you wanted, I would gladly continue the conversation... have a good weekend...

Anyway, I'm 20 years old... and I started listening to Maiden at 14... it's pointless... they never meant that much to me... and I honestly believe that they will never be a band I reconsider after turning 30... allow me to say that if there's anything adolescent, it's your defense of the band... but it's not a criticism... on the contrary... you should be envied...

You haven't been clear... even though I still consider the iconography of Maiden to be "very sad"... it's all points of view... I've never been a fan of theirs and consequently I can't appreciate these "minor" aspects... I still don't understand why you accuse me of "arrogance"... with SERIOUS people, I've discussed everything with the utmost calm, it seems to me... and I've also appreciated (even if I don't agree with) the ideas of others...

After all, we have to think in "musical" terms... the NWOBHM never had its own sound... it’s just a way to categorize the bands that will influence the global Metal scene in the years to come... the Leppard will change direction and settle into hard rock (which will take on more mainstream colors with Hysteria)... while the Venom, as you rightly said, will lay the foundations for Thrash... in the end, as you can see, many of the bands of the "new wave" have little or nothing in common... their classification is based on a pure historical analysis and nothing more...

Hetfield, I appreciate your disappointment, but I wasn't the first to label Leppard as Heavy. After all, I don't know if you've listened to the "Def Leppard EP," which is now extremely rare, but I assure you it's very, very heavy (of course, not the heavy of today...). Motorhead do have an influence in punk, but they have always been assigned to that earlier movement (including Sabbath and Blue Öyster Cult, just to name a couple) that characterized all the music of the following years. And with this, I'm not talking about NWOBHM, but everything that shortly after evolved into this new musical movement. Nonetheless, I appreciate your (reasoned) reply.

Dear trooper.. tastes are tastes.. it's pointless for you to keep breaking my balls with your chants.. and even though I'm sorry to waste time with people like you.. why do you bring up Metallica?.. and for what reason?.. I do recognize the historical importance of Maiden.. never said otherwise.. (I still don’t like the first album anyway..) but perhaps your limited musical knowledge overlooks other bands that have made an even greater impact on the N.W.O.B.H.M... want some names? Def Leppard, Saxon, Samson, Venom... the first heavy bands par excellence.. and of course, Motorhead should also be considered, since you mentioned them.. but I wouldn’t directly place them in the "new wave" since their roots are based on the previous wave which is much more "hard rock oriented" (for example, the great Ufo, or even Priest..) that said, feel free to think as you like, as I will do the same.. but you know.. it's not nice to be called "ignorant" by people like you.. regards..

It's true, Dave.. anyway, I don't like the namesake simply for "personal taste"..... regarding the dear know-it-all.. oh my, "know-it-all," it takes courage to call you that.. if you want to know, I've listened to the ENTIRE discography of Maiden.. and those two works I mentioned are the only two that struck me.. as for their stage presence, I understand that there’s crazy work behind it all and everything.. but in my humble opinion it's ridiculous.. and the iconography that cptgaio talks about only serves to make poor teenagers spend a bit more money while playing at being alternative.. let's face the truth.. then Eddie may also be their mascot, and we can agree on that.. but he is such a used and reused figure for economic purposes that every time I see him, I start laughing to ease the discomfort he brings me.. does the video game "Ed Hunter" ring a bell for you?.. IN MY OPINION they are and will remain until the end of their very long career a bunch of poor fools (not musically speaking, as they are very valid).. that’s all, and I hope not to return to the subject..
