You're not entirely wrong, but I think the emotions triggered by listening to a song are highly subjective, and more often than not, they're connected to the context and the moment in which they are heard. I don't believe they're linked to the sincerity of the singer or their desire to make a buck. There are some exceptions, but that would be a bit of a lengthy discussion... Bye.
