Excuse me, but does a work like Uncle Meat seem instinctive to you? It seems to me very reasoned in its approach, although in form it appears more colorful, defined, and logical than that of his friend. Beefheart, on the other hand, seems to operate in more cerebral structures, but with a much wilder flair.
